Impolite Conversation is a place where we can talk about the things we were told not to discuss in polite company - politics, sex, spirituality & religion and money - as well as science, culture, personal development and more. Our content is not all risqué or even rude: When we use the word "Impolite", we're talking about an attitude - one of not blindly following conventions or authority, especailly when they divide (or even oppress) us. Science Editor

Sarah Barnett

Sarah graduated as a mature student in Geology and embarked on a fast-track post-grad course in magazine journalism. She secured a position as a freelance sub-editor at her favourite publication, the science monthly Focus and was later offered a permanent position there. Focus was sold in 2001 and, unable to relocate, Sarah left and started a family.

In recent years, she has juggled occasional freelance writing -mainly for Flipside, a teenage science magazine – with obtaining a Tesol (Teaching English as a Second Language) certificate and bringing up three boys.
